The Greenwood Municipal Court will be in session on September 1st, 2020 at 6:00 pm.

Following the direction of the Jackson County Circuit Court, the following Covid-19 safety precautions have been adopted:

  • According to the Jackson County Recover Plan Phase 2.5, all persons over 2 should wear a mask.
  • Only one person to be allowed in to the court at a time. If you have an attorney, your attorney will be permitted in to represent you and make the appearance for you.
  • No other members of the public will be allowed to enter the building with a defendant.
  • Social distancing will be maintained at all court appearances.
  • The docket will be called from the front door of the Greenwood City Hall.
  • Entry will be restricted to the front door of the Greenwood City Hall.
  • Exit from the court will be through the west, side door of the Greenwood City Hall.
  • Continuances may be granted ahead of appearance by calling the Greenwood Municipal Clerk 816-537-6975 Ext 103.

Our April 7th and May 5th dockets were postponed.  Letters were mailed to all Defendants on both dockets.  You may use the link below to find your current court date.

Municipal Court is generally held the first Tuesday of each month. 

Court is in session at 6:00 P.M.

The Greenwood Municipal Court has on-line payments available with All card types are accepted.
Please wait 7 days after you receive your ticket before paying online.

You may also make a payment by telephone-weekdays from: 
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 1-800-444-1187. 
(Billingual representatives available)

The Court accepts the following forms of payment in person: cash, credit/debit card (Visa/Mastercard), money order, cashier’s check, local checks from the defendant or a parent of a student (no counter checks or starter checks).

Payments by mail may be made by check, money order or cashier’s check.

There is also a drop box at City Hall for your convenience.

Municipal Court Dress Code:

Appropriate attire is required in the courtroom. Shirts and shoes must be worn in the courtroom.

Prohibited attire includes:

  • Shorts, bare-midriff outfits, cut-offs, halter tops
  • Tank tops, undershirts, see-through blouses
  • Bathing suits, lingerie
  • Athletic uniforms, hats, helmets
  • Heavily soiled work clothing
  • Clothing emblazoned with obscene words, images, or messages contemptuous or disrespectful of the judicial process
